rice cooker or pot (diameter about 20cm)

Preparation in a pot

It is very important to wash the rice first. Add cold water in the pot with the rice and rinse 2 to 3 times or until there is no more starch visible. The water should be clear after the last cleaning.

After washing the rice, put 4 cups of water in the pot or until the rice is about 3 to 4 cm under water.

Place the pot on a high heat.

Wait until the water boils, then lower the fire to a small fire.

Allow the rice to continue cooking until all water has been absorbed. Then the rice is ready.

Preparation in a rice cooker

It is very important to wash the rice first. Add cold water in the rice cooker and rinse 2 to 3 times or until there is no more starch visible. The water should be clear after the last cleaning.

After washing the rice, use double the amount of water compared with the rice. For instance: when using 2 cups of rice, use 4 cups of water.

After washing the rice, put 4 cups of water in the rice cooker

Start the rice cooker (setting should be 'cooking')

Once the rice is cooked, the rice cooker will switch to the 'keep warm' setting.

Try the rice. If not cooked to your liking, add some more water in the rice cooker, put the setting back to 'cook' and the rice cooker will automatically cook until done.
